About Haechi
Haechi is an ominiscient mythical animal and it is a symbol of Seoul. It often appears in myths as a guardian against fire and disasters. In ancient Korea, Haechi sculptures were used in architecture, as their image was trusted to be able to protect Seoul from natural disasters. It was believed by ancient people that Haechi has righteous temperament distinguishing good and evil, punishing the wrongdoers, and guarding important mounments from any possible dangers.
